Giving back
Dr. Pelini has volunteered on VOSH International clinic trips to underserved communities around the world. On her 2014 trip to Nepal, the team provided eye care and glasses to about 1,600 patients. WGN9 featured her mission work on Chicago’s Very Own.
The practice also supports Room to Read, the Nepalese Youth Foundation, World Vision and the Lions Club.
Donate your old glasses
Bring in glasses you or your family no longer wear. We clean and sort them, and VOSH International gets them to people who can’t afford their own.
Why 30 minutes
A vision check tells you what strength glasses to buy. A comprehensive exam also looks at the health of your eyes, and eyes can show early signs of things you would never notice on your own.
Thirty minutes is our floor, not our target. We’re one office with a small team, so there’s no schedule pressure pushing you out the door.

Comprehensive eye exams, dry eye care, contact lens fittings, keratoconus care, LASIK consultation and co-management, glasses and eyewear, diabetic eye exams, and exams for children from around age 5. See all services.

How many doctors are there?
One. Silvia Pelini, OD, owns the practice and performs the exams herself. The team is deliberately small, so you see the same familiar faces every visit.
Do you see children?
Yes, from around age 5.
Are you part of a chain?
No. Pelini Eyecare is independent and has one location.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes. Refer a new adult patient and we’ll add a $25 credit to your account. Just have them list your name on their intake paperwork. There’s no limit, and credits can be used for exams, contacts or glasses.
